Why do console wars even exist anymore?

Since the 7 gen and arguably the 6 one all consoles are basically the same with similar features and `multiplataform releases that look the same.
Why do people still fight about this? Whats the point?

Pushed by fans who thing their purchase is so fucking good because they spend money on it and refuse to believe they spent £500 on a radiator with no games.

the last gen i really liked was the 7 gen. And even then its when things started going bad.

same here, my last console was ps3.
After my account got hacked and pay online become a thing i left consoles to only PC and most of games i play is ether indie, emulation or high rated games after 6 month from release to get the "ultimate" edition at high discount with close to no bugs and i know what I'm getting from it.

same i only have the ps4 for persona 5 royal and resident evil since it has a discount but i will get the game on pc eventually.

There never was any war to start with, Nintendo was the only relevant console up to SNES then Sony was the only relevant one up to PS2 and ever since then no consoles at all has been remotely worth it.
