It's fine if good games have cute girls, but it's bad for a game to bank on them instead of putting effort into other things. I don't know about FIFA and grand strategy games, but CoD sometimes has effort put into it. We're never going to have a deluge of sports and grand strategy games, and the days of every shooter being a CoD clone are behind us. But Japan's been laser focused on otaku bait for over a decade and it's just getting worse, which is why people tend to complain about it more.
