My best travel experience was getting drunk with some cool Japs in a tiny izakaya in Osaka. They spoke zero English but we still became friends. They took me to a yakiniku place later and showed me how to do it.
10/10 experience, would recommend.

I hope so but I doubt it. There are a lot of Chinese sympathizers here too. My gf unironically wants reunification with China, she thinks it will bring economic prosperity and turn Taipei into Shanghai.
