In the 40s and 50s Jews often owned liquor stores and pharmacies where blacks would get alcohol and drug to get high on. As the Jews made more and more money from these businesses, and the crime rates went up due to black addiction, they moved out of these formerly Jewish ghettos in places such as the Bronx and Brooklyn and ghettos became synonymous with blacks instead.
