Home audio bros how tf do I set up this subwoofer
the reciever already has 4 satellites hooked in but idk how to get the hook up the sub. the sub seems to have a 15 pin but that doesn’t have a port on the receiver
Find the input RCA(s) on the subwoofer (not shown in this picture). Connect at least one of them to the sub out on your receiver. Voila!
That is all of the ports on the sub sos sadly no RCA
Search model number.
RTFM.
Prob need special cable and rest of speakers hook into sub.
Logitech makes computer shit, not home theater.
you're trying to wire an amplifier to a plate amp, how fucking stupid are you
Honestly, it’s time to upgrade. These aren’t compatible as I don’t see a line level input on sub. Spend a few bucks on a decent onkyo receiver 676 minimum and a definitive technology prosub 1000. You’d be thrilled compared to what you can get out of that compared to the nonsense that’s out there at a similar cost
It looks like you are trying to hook up an old computer setup to a home receiver
Apparently it requires a old logitech receiver to work with the proprietary 15pin connection but the previous tenants here said they managed to set to up somehow with this yamaha receiver.
What does it say in white letters under this pre-out, OP?
Subwoofer output but the sub doesn't have an RCA port
You need a corresponding Logitech amp.
Why didn't you check this before buying it you moron?
Thank you for the recommendations
You cannot connect these two things. Get a new subwoofer.
You will have to cobble up a rca to 15 pin
Was already here at this house when I moved in
Yeah it would seem so damn
you can hook that sub out on that receiver to that sub amp, google is your friend many have done it before.
Will look into both, thanks
The amp would be in the sub with those outputs dumb fuck
Dont think you can connect those two together lad. Do you have the little speakers that go with the logitech sub?
awesome speakers! you'll need this bit
Unfortunately don't. The four satellites are huge home theater speakers and not logitech so an upgrade
Might need to hunt around a bit to see if people are selling that unit by itself! Most likely better to just get new sub at this point
sure. take that ancient piece of shit to the Goodwill so that you have some space on your desk for something made in this century.
Okay, so I've been dealing with audio equipment for a while now.
First off this sub isnt compatible with this receiver. They work on 2 different systems/setup.
For the woofer it was combined with a Logitech receiver that output all of its surround and woofer channels by the pinned data port you see on the woofer, the woofer was then used as a catalyst to distribute all of the audio to the satellite speakers.
The receiver you have is a non proprietary receiver that distributes all of the audio on it's own.
With that being said they're initially compatible. But the subwoofer is still just a basic speaker and the only way you're gonna get that woofer working is if you nigger rig it.
Open the woofer, cut all wires coming off of the woofer to the satellite speaker distribution board. On the woofer there will be either 2 or 4 tabs coming off of it for audio input to the speaker itself. Get a female eva wire, cut it in half, solder one of the rca wires on the inside of the wire jacket to the positive and the other to the negative. Before you solder it though check for polarity using an AA battery, subwoofers hit inward, not outward. Put one of the wires on the positive side of the battery and the other on the negative, of the woofer pushes out then its backwards, if it pushes in the they are correct. Upon finding the polarity solder the wires accordingly, positive to positive and negative to negative. Make sure you leave enough space on the female eva to leave outside of the case, after testing I would use a hot glue gun in your solders to create extra strength so if the wire gets pulled in the future the glue will take the strain and not your solder joints.
Then from there all you need to do is use a Male to male eva to go between the subwoofer and the output on the receiver.
The receiver should have all of the neccessary low band pass filtering to handle the sub.
Hope it helps OP but that's the only it's going to work.
***with that being said their initially not compatible***
Is what I meant. Stupid fingers.
***get a female rca cable***
I'm just now proofreading. Sorry I'm at work. But anything that comes up as eve or eva is an auto correction for RCA.
Seriously appreciate this input. Pretty much solved my question and gave me a solution.
Wish you the best of luck user
Any time OP. Hope it works out for you Zig Forumsro.
you mind your goddamn business
