I mean, is there anything it can't do concerning media formats, let alone surpassing every other media player in existence?!
I want you to try and name one thing that needs to be fixed/added/improved, and I'll owe you a Coke if I ever meet you...

how is it better than mpv?
They should fix that thing where a bloated GUI is bundled in with the video player.
this VLC shit does not use system native GUI controls, it looks like shit
I rate it 2 out of 10
Anyone and everyone knows this is utter garbage.
Either go with mpv or mpc-hc (klite).
It sucks on Windows, but it's what I'm using on linux across 2 pcs and I have no complaints, aside from the buggy "fullscreen screen selection" when you got 2 monitors or more.
VLC is pretty good but they need to add some QoL fixes to automate common tasks. Currently some tasks take several action where one could be enough. For example, instead of requiring the user to do each step separately, VLC could uninstall itself and install mpv all in one go.
lmao, oh the memories.. That shit happened so many times.
nowadays I use mpv
