Had a pretty standard but many channel cheap chinacrap system at place i worked once, hard drive was big enough to store 2.5-3 years on 16 channels before being overwritten.

And then, even as cheapchinashit it was easy af to back stuff up. And my boss did, as it was a high crime area and he wanted to be that guy who had the footage if the cops asked.

Cops never asked... BUT he would keep shit like people walking down the sidewalk and hilariously spilling a drink after trying to catch it a few times.
