Look up the dude in the picture, user. Nationalism (with a capital N) was Edward Bellamy’s peaceful alternative to capitalism. He believed that without industrial (economic) democracy that political democracy was a sham. Nationalism aimed to organize the people in order to achieve this industrial democracy. After the Haymarket incident it quickly became one of the most popular forms of American social radical. Read Looking Backward and Equality. He intended the book to be a forecast for the future. Though a utopian he is one of the best there was

*social radicalism

How is nationalism defined in this context?

see
It’s unfortunate that the movement was named Nationalism despite having nothing to do with its modern connotations

Isn't it basically just Demsoc? I much liked his book and that's how I interpreted it.

Has anyone read the sequel to Looking Backward, titled Equality? After actual working people began to be involved in Nationalism / Bellamyism Bellamy himself drifted much further Left and apparently (so I’ve read) Equality is much more radical than the first book and deals with stuff like decentralization, feminism, animal rights and integrating nature and human civilization – all things were interest me intensely. Kropotkin too called this book superior to the first

Natsoc gang

That's a pretty epic filter mods.

bellamy was a liberal like most self-described "socialists" of 19th century america. most of those american radicals including eugene debbs never read marx and didn't understand their socialism as marxian.

As long as it doesn't disrupt international networking or the spread of hypothetical revolutionary wave, I agree.

Bellamy's "Nationalism" was state capitalism through and through, even worse than the free market. He had 0 knowledge of the yet to be understood calculation problem

lower case nationalism and its snake in the grass twin mongoloid brother patriotism is poison though that needs to be euthanized from the Earth

Doesn’t Dr. Leete or some other character literally refer to the government as the sole employer and capitalist in the book? Not exactly a secret. Still, I admire his work and he is just a utopian socialist at the end of the day.

oh how the mighty have fallen

"even worse than the free market"

this board has gone full retard.

I will add Bellamy's second book as being irrelevant due to modern material conditions. if Krackpotkin liked it, its probably shit

Nationalism is shit, including socdem varieties.

Correct.
