Don't think they got to do much in the way of architecture because Il Duce was more interested in a spergy classical revival to go along with his dreams of a new roman empire. Our ancestors built skyscrapers like the woolworths building that were beautiful masterpieces of traditional architecture, I don't see how traditional styles of architecture are in anyway incompatible with modern life tbh. Obviously we are living 150 years later almost and things will be updated for our current time but I don't think we should forget timeless principles like the curved street, detailed facades, parks and greenery, archetrove and arch etc.
