Here's something that bugs me when you get articles about how Millennials are dipshits when it comes to necessary skills. Granted, I am well aware that us Millennials have the resource of the Internet, like Howstuffworks and a variety of websites and videos, to teach us all kinds of stuff to train our bodies, minds, and spirits, and we ought to take full advantage of what is available.
But from my understanding, cultural transmission only happens when an older generation, say a father and mother, teach the children how to do something. So why the fuck are Boomers so surprised when lots of the ascendant generation can't do things WHEN THE PARENTS AREN'T TEACHING THEIR KIDS JACK SHIT?
But I know, no use in seeking sympathy; gotta crack open the books or click on the website links and start learning the skills. It just pisses me off when you have Boomers boasting about all the things they can do in the comment section, yet seem incapable of being mentors to the younger generations. It's just so fucking absurd.
