This has been backfiring on them, since NRA has gotten new members and donations. I would also recommend joining GOA as well, since NRA has been known to get a little cucky and compromise on gun rights legislation.

I don't quite understand why people want to end the NRA, you would think lefties would love it cause it's like the oldest civil rights organization in the US iirc. Plus they could argue that increased gun control would disproportionately affect poc which is probably true or that it's actually an example of grassroots support affecting government policy. I don't get how they can be so disconnected to think that the only people supporting the nra are gun corporations, when there's generally widespread support in the population of the 2a and the NRA is the most well known group to defend it. Even if they kill the NRA, do they think all of the guns will magically disappear when they pass gun control? Do they think people will forget how to reload ammunition or something? Will they regulate black pipe and sheet metal so people can't just build their own firearms? What about 3d printing?

The funny thing is, the only people I know who are for gun control know nothing about guns. I used to be for "common sense gun control", but I decided to look into the issue and learn about firearms, and now that I actually understand things about them, their philosophy of use, their effect on crime, etc I don't support gun control anymore. I think the best way to change these people's minds would just be to make firearm ownership more common, it's like exposure therapy. Most of the anxiety and animus that drives gun control really is derived from a fundamental lack of understanding in both the people and the government, and right now the nra serves as a stopgap to prevent our rights from being infringed upon.

Granted, the numbers game, e.g. having so many soldiers to try to overwhelm a enemy is an effective strategy, it can not win in a war of civilians because the enemy is not easily identifiable. For that same reason we keep lists. Many of them might never suspect it but in a civil war, there will be people coming for their house and they aren't going to come by and ask questions first.

Your money is better spent on someone like SAF, who funded the McDonald v. Chicago case (and are currently helping Defense Distributed sue the feds). Plenty of good state level groups too, like VCDL and Georgia Carry, for example, who have won court cases to kill idiotic local regulations.
