In 2015, the ship that was once MV Cragside was well into its transformation at the BAE Systems shipyards in Mobile, Alabama.
We were the first media outlet to post a picture of the extensive modifications being done to the already futuristic looking ship.

One of the carriers they made for the Royal Navy was rejected due to a serious leak issue in the propshaft. That's gonna cost BAE a hundred million at least to fix and take around a year in drydock. It's the first known instance of a fault of this kind in a modern ship.

Carriers and pretty much all ships that aren't submarines have been invalidated with the invention of hypersonic missiles. Once they proliferate throughout the world, America's military will be exposed as the paper tiger it really is.
All is not lost though for naval power. It can be still used against nation-states that don't have hypersonics. While we're at it, abandon the carrier and just make gigantic sea platforms already. Carriers are just sitting ducks that will kill 6000 men once hit by a hypersonic.
