It looks like the US has struck Syrian government positions again, this time in the eastern desert region. There doesn’t seem to have been any word from the Pentagon yet, but the strikes allegedly took place around an energy installation called T2 near the Iraqi border.
Accusations are flying that they might be providing air support to ISIS again, perhaps so the Kurds/SDF can capture the land before Assad does. Either way, it’s significant to some degree in that this marks one of the first times the Pentagon has struck Assad directly without some kind of excuse like the fake chemical attacks
