One of Doug Ford's key promises was to unfuck Ontario's educational system - not only scrapping the retarded "Discovery Math" (a common-core style program of utter bullshit that ensures kids don't actually learn math), but removing the outright evil "progressive sex ed" they've been indoctrinating young children with for the past few years. Ford literally said something along the lines of "they should be teaching facts, not ideology".
THAT is the main reason to celebrate a Ford win, though the copious amounts of salt being generated is a nice bonus.
It's telling that only very young people vote for the NDP, because everyone in Ontario old enough to remember the one and only time they actually ran the government is determined to never let it happen again.
They were elected in the middle of a recession. They proceeded to make it worse. They then realized they were running out of money, and tried to fix it by raising taxes on everyone and demanding civil servants work without pay.
It's odd that some people seem genuinely surprised at the huge Conservative victory, when the mere prospect of another NDP government would obviously mobilize everyone over the age of fifty to stop it by any means necessary.
