The corollary to this is that if a man is rich, or good looking, or has high status, but lacks the charismatic personality, he will only have sporadic success, and likely be the beta chump who gets cheated on. This is because a meek personality betrays a beta soul. A woman might be initially dazzled by the rich playboy and maybe he'll get to bang her, but will quickly bore of him if he demonstrates needy behavior. If his personality is not congruent with his looks/money/status, her instinct will cause her to cast doubt on the man.
But ultimately I agree with you. For the average man, it's much easier to develop a good physique and at least a well-groomed appearance than it is to achieve money (the kind of money that turns womens' heads) or status. I would just add that he also needs to work on his charisma.
