Large explosions have been happening in Bucks County, PA for the past 3-4 months between midnight and 4 AM. The FBI and ATF were brought in. They finally caught at least one of the responsible terrorists.
MILFORD TWP., Pa. - Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub laid out the case Thursday afternoon against the suspect in a series of mysterious explosions in Upper Bucks County.
30-year-old David Surman Jr. is facing multiple charges, some of which include possessing weapons of mass destruction, but officials say he hasn't been officially linked to the recent explosions around around Upper Bucks that have occurred since April
"This day has been a long time in coming," Weintraub said. "It did not materialize overnight. We have had just once again incredible police work by not only the men and women that you see before you hear but also many many people that aren't present here today."
After searching Surman's home on Old Bethlehem Pike in Milford Township and his business, Consolidated Chemicals and Solvents on Spinnerstown Road, authorities found multiple explosive devices.
"This was what we believe to be large bomb that was capable of mass destruction," Weintraub said. "That's why the defendant has been charged with that offense."
Weintraub said authorities found an 18-inch device with four fuses that was ready to be detonated. It's unclear where it was set to go off.
Weintraub said Surman's girlfriend was seen laughing with him in pictures about the explosions, but she has been cooperative with investigators and not been charged.
Weintraub said the investigation is still active. It's unknown what Surman's motive was or if he was responsible for every explosion over the last several months. The district attorney is warning the public to be aware of any devices that could still be out there and ready to explode.
