What really gets me is the total lack of skill involved. I've never really been a fan of rap, but even I could admit that the instrumentals driving it (the beats, the rhythms, the tempos etc.) were at least occasionally engaging. It's the lyrics that were usually remedial, repetitive and devoid of meaning.
