Imagining Reward Neurotransmitters as Cash

Lately I’ve approached looking at dopamine and endorphins like a bank account. There are screen caps that show great leaders have fasted, remained abstinent, and decreased “comforts of life.” Someone posted recently about a 7 day detox where you do nothing but read, eat well, and workout.

Just like you would save up your wealth, nofap saves up your neurotransmitters. Fapping is similar to drugs. Every time you drink, smoke pot, or use heroin, you deplete your bank account of endorphins/dopamine/seratonin. This is why druggies look like they do. They are neurochemically bankrupt. You only have a finite amount of dopamine.

Apply this to faceberg and netflix. When normalfags play candy crush and click like, they deplete their dopamine. Same thing for binge watching. Those payments don’t bring you further forward. In the end, there was no beneficial outcome, and so that euphoria was empty.

On the contrast, if you eliminate these superficial drainages, you will have a healthy store of dopamine. You can invest your endorphins to make endorphins. You learn a new outlook in a book and you get an endorphin rush. This new outlook now helps in a discussion, and you get another endorphin rush.

You can climb higher or fall lower based on your payments. If you smoke crack, you pay a large sum neurochemically, so you need more crack to get to baseline or euphoria. You will be in debt. On the other hand, if you read books, you will find the normalfag’s world empty, so you seek novel ideas and education to gain euphoria. The self improvement feeds upon itself and you literally transcend their cyclical wastage of feel good.

I think this is worth an inclusion in everyday life. Spend your dopamine wisely. Spend it on efforts that will return investment.

What are you exchanging your money, time and effort for?
Emotional stimulation, usually good one.
Money has value because we assign it value. Where does this assigned value come from? It doesn't come from stock exchanges or currency exchange rates. It comes from subjective value we assign to money. How is this subjective value measured? Through our emotions?

To add on. Fiat currency has no real value. EVEN resources like gold or oil has no real value. The value that we assign to all these things are subjective. If there were no humans oil wouldn't have any value. Oil has value because it is integral part of our lives and we rely on it and value it.

You're not completely wrong but it would be better if you learn more about the way it works before trying to explain your analogy.

What great leaders and good thinkers have in mind is the European quality of being able to delay pleasure for the sake of achievement. There are also reasons why people fall into bad periods of life where achieving a high is escapism. The main reason why people usually spiral downward into this is bad diet and a history of being addicted to seemingly mundane "foods" such as sugary foods.

Sugary foods tax the liver and encourage growth of candida of the gut which will create more neurotoxins that increase the level of euphoria while you ingest sugary foods. Children in households that don't think twice of the constant availability of sugar foods end up with livers that aren't too far off from those at risk for alcoholism and an addiction to sugary foods. Their palates are so warped that they can't have a herbal tea and taste the natural sweetness.

The bottom line is the way to achieve peak mental health is to acknowledge the link between gut health and liver activity and fix one's diet. You will find that this mission will spill into other areas of life and make things that degenerates find mundane far more enoyable that you will in turn see the madness in unhealthy behaviors. Healthy people seek out healthy and productive activities. Unhealthy people seek out cheap highs and ways to degrade their bodies.

I disagree, attention is - spending consciousness over time is the method of generating change in the world on the road to godhood. Not in the egotistical sense, more in the sense of elevating one's mind toward the Good. Although arguably it could also double for egotistical elevation.

Yeah, for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction, this law of physics is consistent in the human psyche and biology as well. all pleasure brings equal suffering, and vice versa. That's why people in first world countries are suicidal now more than ever, they have burnt out their natural reward systems and have nihilistic ideology as a result of hitting the hedonistic ceiling, mistaking it to be the greatest good one could achieve in life. Honestly, even fruits in moderation. We've bred them to be 1000s of times sweeter than they were in the wild. Sugar basically only occurred naturally in great amounts in honey… that's it. Sugar is a cancer and one of the final /ironpill/s is to quit craving sweetness at all.

Nice dubdubs with a trip but that's not what I meant. I mean that ideally one should not eat sweets, fruit is okay in small amounts but understand that sugar, even if fructose and if surrounded by the natural fiber of fruit is sometimes food. You can't be a proper Aryan specimen if you aren't in peak physical form.

I'm pretty fuckin fit, and I eat about 4 bananas a day.
However that is the extent of my sugar consumption, and the rest of my diet is almost strictly carrots, potatos, broccoli, chard, garbanzo/black beans, wild rice, avocados and walnuts/hemp seeds.
Would you reccomend anything be added/removed?
