I will point out the US census doesn't ask for legal identification, and unfortunately the census and every poll we take does preference urban areas due to their data collection methodology. In the case of the polls that is intentional and far more extreme than the census. They do this in part by claiming that the US is far more urban than it actually is due to the fucked up way they define urban, ie the entire township surrounding any city with 4,000 or more inhabitants. The GSS has a sampling methodology more representative of reality and generally comes up with a demographic distribution of 63%.
So the census already does account for the 20-40 million illegals and even have a slight preference towards them.
