When I went flyer-posting once, I was able to hit every public bulletin board available on my college campus in less than an hour by myself. It isn't difficult to do and goes faster than you think, so go for it yourself.
As for finding people near you to help you with future projects, forget about making Zig Forums threads asking for volunteers. That is not well received for good reasons. Instead, find opportunities to speak in public gatherings or wherever about things that a person who browses Zig Forums or would be amicable towards these ideas would recognize. Particularly Zig Forums humor. Insiders will recognize that quickly. Then chat with them and form some connections that way.
