Regardless of this thread, there are three main ways for any jew to break promises, even to their own god.

Kol nidre, the most effective, it voids oaths. Technically (as in, PR bullshit) it should be that jews fulfill all promises in the span of a year because it's a yearly ritual at Yom Kippur.
Thing is, jews are allowed to break oath even under normal circumstances if their life would be endangered if they kept the promise, and you know that jews are always in danger, Kol Nidre does the rest in an official manner.

Second is taschlich, this is a more recent way but it is still very old and in fact one of the reasons why they were accused of literally poisoning wells.
Taschlich (German for pocket is Tasche, and yiddish is a perversion of German) is the ritual where jews stand near a river or body of water and empty all their pockets to throw out everything, including lint, to symbolically cleanse themselves of pretty much everything they do on a general basis, lying, cheating, etc.

Some more 'faithful' jews remain stationary while doing that, often behind a counter or table during negotiations since no jew should walk like, what was it, two cubits without a head covering, I forgot the exact number, but many don't care about that aspect.
