ANYONE, progressive or neocon, who privileges VALUES over BLOOD is always a step away from supporting the genocide of their own kind. So long as you share their values, you are accepted. Even if you are an alien, you are admitted, because the assumption is that once the establishment pushes you through its institutions, then you will share their values. Neocons thought we could build universities and broadcasting centers etc in Iraq, and once we cycled the population through these institutions they'd be just like us. But instead the Iraqis just blew up everything we built. So, Progressives thought we could instead import aliens to our own countries and cycle them through our existing institutions and they'd be just like us. And we just have to tolerate them running us over, raping us, throwing acid at us, etc until they accept our values.
Both shared this vision of uniting all people of the entire world through shared VALUES.
The problem with privileging VALUES over BLOOD is that if you diverge from popular values, especially if you've been "educated", then there's nothing in the minds of modernists/post-modernists tying you together. You are irredeemable, deplorable, and must be unpersoned, you Nazi. Whether you are a family member, lover, friend, associate, co-worker, no matter your relationship - if you disagree on some value, then you are excommunicated from the community. And for progressives especially, since they no longer believe in borders, since they think America as a project is fundamentally evil, we can't even say "Well we may disagree but we're both Americans".

This manner of thinking has been building up for quite a while. It has its roots in stuff like the following: For most of history, your mother and father were the people who had intercourse that resulted in you being born. But at some point the language was subverted so that your "mother/father" was whoever's house you stayed in as a child. So we stopped saying "adoptive mother" and instead just said "mother". And instead of traditional "mother" we said "biological mother". But in fact, your "biological" mother IS your real mother. You have an essential connection with the people who share your genes, one you will never have with a different adult just because you grew up in their household.
But it is stuff like this that started this idea that an adopted child has a closer connection with an adoptive parent because they share VALUES, and that this is more important than the BLOOD shared between a child and their real, "biological" parent.

This style of thinking leads also to statistical foolery that apologize for illegals with arguments like: That's irrelevant. Family is family, and whatever problems you have, you can sort them out within the family because you are family. Problems with illegals can only be sorted out via the state (that often cares more about the illegal than its own citizens) or violent confrontation (which is suppressed by the state).
I have to deal with family no matter what, existence depends on it, or failing that, depending on the state. But the illegal would not be here to rape me at all if the state did its job and defended the borders.

"Values over blood" leads to people supporting genocide of their own kind. They are conditioned to believe that they are evil unless they support the ideal of a multicultural utopia and oppose "racism" wherever they find it. But they nevertheless can't help but feel more comfortable with members of their own family and race than they do around aliens. They can't live with this contradiction, and the ideal of a multicultural utopia is so heavily programmed into them, that they must grow to HATE being around members of their own family and race, because otherwise being around aliens will always be an unpreferable experience by comparison. They must grow to hate their own race so that being around their own race won't feel better than being around aliens.
But what they don't understand is that the aliens won't accept them into their own community either. Because aliens feel comfortable around their own kind too! And they haven't been conditioned yet to believe in this multicultural ideal. They don't care about multiculturalism, they are just coming to the West for the economic benefits. And when they are here they form communities of their own kind.
Eventually, the Bohemians grow to hate all mankind, rather than admitting that they have natural racial preferences. They end up "crazy cat ladies" or activists warning about doomsday because humans are evil and destroying the world via overpopulation or whatever.
This is the progression of the consciousness of progressives. They hate their family, then their race, then all of humanity, because they've abandoned blood for values and can never form a connection with anyone who doesn't completely share their values - meaning no one except others who likewise hate their own race/humanity.
