Braille is not fake, at least in France. There are libraries, shops, community centres all dedicated to blind people. Including blind workers and staff. I've been in a library for blind people. They do everything with braille. Some use devices or dogs for direction, and obviously they use sound a lot. The clerks and customers were both blind people. And not in some hospital / medical care center setting.
