I wouldn't be against giving them there own country, that would (hopefully) put an end to the Native issue. But I'd guess that most of them don't even want their own country. By being a native in Canada, you already get the world handed to you. You don't pay taxes, you get into university for free and almost guaranteed, there are a million and one programs to help you and make you feel special. Native lobby groups get special status for just being native. If they got their own country, all that would be gone.
There's also the problem of land. Most native reservations are too small to be sovereign nations. Most of the areas where natives are the majority are barren prarie or arctic. If we let them go free, they'd demand "reparations" or support, and Canadians would be limpwristed enough to give into their demands and send a constant flow of money to them.
I'd be fully supportive of just giving them a few small countries in remote nowhere, but neither they or Canadian would let that happen.
