AQ started the Iraq civil war by just blowing up Shia religious sites, which resulted in counter Shia violence. All they had to do was keep kicking the nest with more attacks and the Shia would keep fighting back. Thats how civil wars start, rejection of optics you absolute political invalid. By the time the Shia organized brigades going around removing all the Sunnis, the Sunnis gave zero fucks about what motivated the Shia, they deserved it all along at that point, in their eyes.
