On communism:
They (academics, media, etc) don't like to point out the massive murdering, totalitarianism, famines, and other such horrors that have occurred over and over under marxist regimes.
After all, many of them are marxists themselves and work towards marxist goals, so they either don't want to "tip the hand" or they are useful idiots who think that it was "not real communism."

Reminder that the villains won WW2. If the National Socialists had won then the world would almost certainly be a much better place.
