What said. Like a festering toilet bowl, Poland was a lucrative haven for jews because the upper Polish classes used jews as tax farmers, tendering licenses to fleece the peasants of their money. Everything had a tax on it that had to be paid to jews. Tax farming, liquor monopolies, even getting married or baptized. This caused much resentment of the Jews and the aristocracy that employed them. After nearly 500 years of spontaneous episodes of peasant rebellion, the organized pogroms started in earnest in 1648, with the Cossacks holding the Poles responsible for their treatment at the hands of the Kikes.
