The only problem with reporting to local news is that someone is going to have to sacrifice their anonymity to get the story out there. If you remain anonymous, they could see you as illegitimate. If you were to reach out to a local journalist, offer to buy them lunch, sit down with them, and share what you have, they would actually give you a chance.
