I've been bed ridden for about two months due to messing up my arm. I'm still incapacitated and got another two months before I can go back to work, winter is coming and I have plenty of work for self-improvement. I've got a reading list, got my meditation and my physiotherapy to slowly rebuild movement and deteriorated muscles. Taking small steps working up my cardio with no less than 30 minutes of brisk walks in the snow every day. However, planning on making a swift recovery and surpassing me previously fairly fit physique (I stick to calisthenics, maintain a fairly strict Keto diet because it keeps my epilepsy in check) and diet two days a week. I used to be pretty serious about boxing in my late teens/early 20's until I got the epilepsy, done some Krav Maga. I'll be completely isolated in a couple of days when real winter hits and I need to build up a way defending myself with all the time I'll have on my hands. Any suggestions?
Any other suggestions as far as essential self improvement reads go are warmly welcome
OP what you want is the judge loaded with .410 00 buckshot. 4 9mm size projectiles in each shot. Reloading one handed will suck but 5 shots means you have 20 projectiles which isn't bad.
But OP will be one handed so reloading is off the table and he won't be able to make very precise timed shots so having more hits/shot makes a lot of sense for him. Of course the buckshot will have less energy than the centerfire cartridge, everyone knows that.
I personally use a 9mm but that's because I have two hands.

I don't think anyone can learn to fight from a book. If you want to for enjoyment, though, go ahead. Your best bet is to get a gun as others have said.
