The repeal of s 2 of the BNA was done by the Statute Law Revision Act 1893, which was passed after the Interpretation Act 1889, which provided for exactly what s 2 of the BNA Act said, except in general terms - "a reference to the sovereign is a reference to the sovereign for the time being." That rendered s 2 redundant, so it was repealed in what was basically a spring-cleaning act.
There's a lot wrong with Canada. But we don't need people making up or repeating absurd things in addition to what is wrong already.

There's a couple other things we should realize; the initial French settlements weren't by the government though the French government did invest in them somewhat; they were private companies with shareholders and they were never really profitable enterprises.
Secondly before the BNA Act there was the Quebec Act which is worth studying since it was one of the sparks that provoked the American Revolution.

The references to the Crown in the BNA Act still apply and Canada is still a constitutional monarchy.
Admiralty law does, of course, encompass more than shipping. But it encompasses not one iota of the insufferable idiotic conspiracy-theory shit-tier American boomer nonsense that this thread has implied it includes, like being martial law. It is enacted by the Dominion Parliament under s 91 head "navigation and shipping". Does that look like it includes martial law to you?
