This month, in the January/February print issue of the gun and hunting magazine “Recoil," the former contractor security firm Blackwater USA published a full-page ad, in all black with a simple message: “We are coming.”

Is the war in Afghanistan — and possibly elsewhere ― about to be privatized?

If Blackwater returns, it would be the return of a private security contractor that was banned from Iraq

I predicted this.

Didn't mean to put all of that extra in there

Jake from Black Stone Intelligence predicted this too

At least it is not "ourzogbots".
What would be the consequence for Assad if he wipes out these kosher dogs of war? It still seems to be that "mercenary" is a very dirty word.

No the U.S Gov pays the mercenaries, so we're still effectively there just that Erik prince's BlackWater makes a bunch of money.

Get 600 to 1000 dollars a day to be a blackwater mercenary soldier.

I know. But mercenaries irl are shit tier when it comes to full blown conventional conflict, which is what Syria has become. A horde of t72 can still wipe out any merc outpost despite what vidya had people believe.
Mercs simply can't match the strength of national armies.

Yea but they do muddy up the situations even more because weapons always end up in the hands of terrorist with these type of groups because they are sloppy unlike a professional military.

Nothing would happen.
