The evolution of Vice has been as interesting to observe as the disparity between their documentaries and their published journalism. In case anyone doesn't know, Vice was founded by, among a few others, Gavin McInnes(who also founded The Proud Boys, otherwise known as "Light Wing Meth Squads") to be a relatively objective look into the gritter aspects of society that most mass media wouldn't really cover(certainly not in a straightforward way).
The documentaries that vice produces, while often tainted by their current politics, still sort of carry this through and you get to see a relatively unbiased look into the sort of shit you'd usually expect leftist outlets to completely propagandize. On the other hand, you have the actual online news-paper side of Vice which…is one of the more egregious examples of SJW "journalism" out there.

I have to wonder what scheme Vice works by where one half of it is actually relatively okay and the other half is complete and utter cancer. Likewise I wonder how it got to where it did given it's diverse origins.

I have, but it was because I had never watched the show before and wanted to know what it was about.
