My twitter feed is spammed daily with political ads for leftist presidential candidates such as Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand. Additionally, Kamala's 2020 run was trending today. Granted, no republicans have yet announced a bid for 2020, but Twitter is certainly going full service for the democratic party.
The republicans gained in the senate, but lost in the house this past election. While the house loss was expected based on past trends, I think the republicans would have held it if it weren't for social media interference. I am confident in saying that this meddling resulted in much demoralization for those voting for republican candidates while invigorating those voting for democratic candidates. Now, Twitter is going to try to seal the deal for 2020, and they're getting a head start.
Be on the lookout for more left-leaning political ads, as well as the overshadowing of right-leaning ads once they start coming out.
I will also mention how Twitter political trends are almost entirely favorable to the democratic side. Any time there is a trend, it's either anti-republican or pro-democrat. Basically, on social media, the republican party is just one big punching bag.

If they spam these ads too hard, people may just get sick of them. Trump on the other hand just has to trigger leftists in new and interesting ways to get eyeballs on him.
