With each country looking out for their own interests to maintain order, the environment and its finite resources will eventually run thin. Our population continues to explode as we stare down the precipice of the Age of Automation, and we are going to collapse unless something drastic is done.
The only logical way to move forward is another World War 2-esque scenario where a powerful country attempts to take what is rightfully theirs through the principle of "might is right." This global genocidal war machine will drastically reduce the human population to less than a billion, and will allow for a singular government to properly distribute the land (as owned private property with governmental regulations as it is now) so we can do a better job of making long-term decisions when it comes to how we use our finite resources. There is a beauty to national freedom and the freedom to do as you wish, but not if you see it in the light of our dying civilization.
If we continue down the road of multi-national selfish degeneracy, we are absolutely, 100% doomed as a species. It is not up for debate. If India and the other highly-populated emerging third-world nations are allowed to properly industrialize in the next two decades, we are all going to die by 2200, if not sooner.
