He was a an aide, and in the room for important things during WW1. It was an incredibly gracious deal by a respectful, but soon to be victorious opponent. Britain was absolutely going to accept. But somehow a Jewish delegation got a meeting with Parliament. (This guy was privy to this information, as it involved the U.S. and Jewry) Jewish delegation says, reject the peace, we'll win you the war, all we want is Palestine (which was a British Protectorate, we had no right to give it to anyone, it was still called and was Palestine), and a seat at the negotiating table when this war is won. Britain says, fuck mate, how the fuck are you going to do that.
