If your "truth" is the truth, than it can and will survive the counter information. You should not be worried about that information being released.

If your "truth" is not is not the truth, then it will not survive and you are right to be worried about citizen exposure to counter information.

Your position on the release of that counter information speaks volumes in regard to your belief in your own narrative.

It sends the world that message that they are increasingly receiving loud and clear.

I suppose that fear of the consequences of any open discussion might align with why discussion of facts that disagree with your narrative is illegal in so many nations. My 10th grade world history teacher planted the seeds that Hitler wasn't all that bad by explaining the miracle he performed upon the German economy. After learning that I thought Hitler wasn't all that bad and that he had at least greatly helped and improved Germany.
