Civil disobedience or "illegal activities" is what you practice when you are completely sure that current laws and behavior of your government are written to opress you and stifle your rights, are not impartial or fair, and when there is no other way for you to change them. Protests are an extention of that and they imply the threat of violence, because that is the only thing that can force a corrupt government to change its ways, and that is exactly why in totalitarian states they either ban all of the protests completely, or have a permit system where they only allow protests that can be controlled or not directed at their own government.

"What good does it do to protest, if the government doesn't listen or even arrests protesters and throws them into jail, and then cracks down on the opposition even harder". Do you hear youself? You really think that freedoms, justice and fair treatment for your people will be given to you by the government? No. The government might listen to your speech, or they might crack down even harder, and introduce some laws to force you ro shut up, like they do with those "islamophobia" laws. So you must take freedoms, justice and fair treatment by any means necessary, including the use of force if needed. Unlike you the muslims know that, and that is why they are winning currently. If they need to reject laws that they see in contradiction to sharia - they reject them, if they need to protest - they protest, if they need to kill - they kill.
The utopian society you have in your head where everyone rejects violence and follows the law is only possible when all members of said society do that. Tolerance also goes both ways, you can only be tolerant to the people that are tolerant of you. And the ideology of Islam rejects all of that. The only constituion of theirs is Quran, which treats all kafirs as objects, not subjects, and doesn't grant those kafirs any rights, and the only law is Sharia, and both of those do not reject violence as a means to take and defend the rights of muslims.
So you should do everything that is needed to remove these invaders from your country, to defeat their vile ideology, including violence. And if your government protects them and their ideology from expulsion by law or by force, you should also fight that government by any means necessary.
