I'd have to be here in order to leave, and since this false reality is just a projection of my own mind it has no here for me to be, nor I an I beyond my eye. I am not a Buddhist as Buddhsts are people with great attachment to Buddhism, and my only attachments are women and the dream itself. The problem I encountered is that once you see that all is an illusion of the self "your supreme ever unknowable self" in many ways all efforts to debate or advise or try to create or change things in regards to others become meaningless. But the next and most important realisation is that the ego is not the self and should be abondoned/sacrificed for servitude and the only way how to do that is to focus on serving the entirety of beings in dream.. (Like Hitler did for example, like the sun does) if you start to do that and improve the life of others, you essentially improve the dream (sphere of reality). If you are the center from which most improvements emanate all the beings in the dream start to treat you and worship you. (Like Hitler was worshipped, like the sun is worshipped).

But to succeed In this is not easy, you must transmute sex energy and live in a chronobiological rythm of 8h sleep, 8h external/body activity, 8h internal/mind activity. Then you start to get into "flow" and gain momentum.

The thing I struggle with is the concept of doing by non doing and not doing by doing. It essentially means if you don't fall back into illusion you won't experience "fear doubt and hatred" and will have no reason be passive or haesite when something needs to be done. (Like you would not hesitate if somebody pokes your eye)

I get that. My primary point is to get people to focus on the unformed aspect of God, which is important because otherwise our minds create false narratives like "I exist as more than illusion and am helping others" because those thoughts eventually become "I am a spiritual person who is accomplishing great things", which leads to arrogance and keeps us from God/our true inner nature.
You are correct that communication from my perspective is probably useless but I am not greatly skilled and must rely upon the crudeness of my tongue.
The illusions we encounter enable us to create an exit narrative: a final narrative that destroys all narrative-creation. Loving our teacher, or all beings, while illusory, gives our hearts the opportunity to thump with the unrelenting drumbeat of awakening. So we are harnessing the power of the dream to overcome the dream. But we must hold on to the concept of emptiness, the unformed, until we reach true freedom, as that is the truest manifestation of God that humans can conceptualize as far as I know.
I did not have to return from the unformed state to teach here, I did so out of ignorance, but, as it is possible you may inherently exist beyond my ability to detect it, and because this is the role given to me by the God we all serve (or else), I might as well try.

As far as the helping others while doing nothing, that is a feat accomplished by practicing certain meditation called "Deity yoga". If you practice the Mahamudra meditation I posted earlier in this thread, or the Tummo meditation I posted in the previous, you can incorporate Deity meditation into them, but it requires an empowerment from a Lama, which, while they are easy to get these days, will take more dedication than most here are likely to display. Without Deity meditation only the individual is liberated. This is called the path of the Arhat. An arhat has a fairly short quicker path to enlightenment, but they do not get psychic abilities because they have no true need for them. Unlike Hinduism, Buddhists get comparably few siddhis, or miracles, as our focus is only on liberation and compassion, while Hindus are more similar to the Western "live life to the fullest" philosophy.
So it's not actually a normal thing to liberate others or do the Bodhisattva trip, it takes much more work, many many more lifetimes of being a servant and purification. So if you are deeply interested in the path of liberating others I would make contact with a Lama or Rinpoche as that is somewhat of a specialist path. The Gurus are often accepting of right-wingers and there is no significant obligations on your part, but a person who volunteers to be a Bodhisattva renounces all Heaven and swears to remain here or in hell (same thing, really) until all beings reach enlightenment, and since new beings are constantly being dreamed into creation, that might never happen. So it is a vow of tremendous sacrifice, not to be taken too lightly. I do not think there is any vow more ego-destroying, or meritorious, than to volunteer to go to hell not because you deserve it, but to console those beings unfortunate enough to experience that level of suffering and teach them to let go into Nirvana.

I have found it useful to think deeply about the second Hermetic Principle of correspondence, specifically "as below, so above". When I think very deeply about my own dreams, what they are, who all the characters are, etc., I find profound truths about the "real" world we appear to inhabit. This helps understand that we are and are not God, because the characters in our dreams are and are not ourselves. Likewise, one appreciates the rule set of these realities and begins to gain insight into so-called "magic". I post this only because I have found these insights helpful in gaining greater understanding and hope that others may do the same.

Right. Dreams at night aren't weighed down into a consistent experience because they don't have matter nor do they force us into the same false shell night after night. However, due to their highly random nature they are less useful for realization because whatever teachers we meet there are also liable to be very inconsistent, and what is a useful vision can become nonsensical without notice. Lucid dreaming is the ultimate goal, a constant lucid dream, where we have one for in absolute reality and one foot in this world. Whether we call the being that results a heirophant, a christ, a buddha, whatever, doesn't matter, they are all trying to express the same state of being as perfect and realized as possible in the human state.

Guys. I think god is speaking to me recently. Not directly through words, but like… I've recently been delving deep into the sort of topics this thread and the previous one touch. Well, really I've been at it for about a decade now, but more intensely the past few years and holy shit its all so elegant. It's all so intricate and ITS REAL. IT'S FUCKING THERE RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES, but only if you want to see. It's sublime and explicit. I ran out to the liquor store for some beer after reading some of this thread and a couple songs randomly popped up on my satellite radio (I listen to house music so it's edm often laced with repetitive lyrics or some inspirational quotations or bullshit), anyway, im driving back and this song starts spouting off bullshit about how god is real and how we're all connected to this truth and yadda yadda. I know its ultimately probably cognitive bias but I also have to wonder. And this is just one of many daily little "hints" i keep seeing daily. Ever since I studied molecular biology, that really sealed the deal for me. The entirety of lie is too complex to be left up to chance, there is guidance and there is more than we know, but rest assured, there IS a Truth.

Right, instead of detachment Buddhism teaches non-attachment so that when we die we let go of the relative physical experience and rejoin the absolute/unformed. Truth comes with falsehood, truth is dependent upon falsehood existing for it's own existence. This may sound like complete nonsense at first, but it actually has to be like this in our so-called physical world.
Anything which is brought into existence as a form has an opposite: right implies a left, up implies a down, light implies a shadow. Without a down you wouldn't call anything an up, it would just "be" and you wouldn't label it. Living without labels, without judgments, is living beyond duality, and living, thinking, beyond duality, thinking with a united rather than divided mind, is the next hypotherical step in the evolution of mind. (This does not mean living without discrimination. We must discriminate between healthy and non-healthy, appropriate and non-appropriate, so that we and our children grow up knowing how to thrive. I'm not suggesting you have to live with niggers).
So getting back to the point, without truth there can be none of it's opposite, which is falsehood.
This is a key point of Zen, and it is essential to understand in ordered to have even a limited intellectual understanding of so-called enlightenment.
When we do not attempt to communicate we cannot create falsehoods or misunderstandings.
So falsehoods and misunderstandings are at best an unintended byproduct of, and at worst a deliberate inversion of, the quest for an understanding of real truth, truth beyond the human mind's ability to grasp it.
This is part of why Zen monks only bow or move slightly when asked questions instead of speaking, or speak of the physical when asked about the spiritual.
So what we call real truth is actually beyond "truth" and "not truth". It is what existed before truth and non-truth, or any other dualistic framework, were conceptualized within the mind.
We call that unformed state of real truth the "absolute reality, or God, the creator, the source", where there is no self or other, etc. and we call this dreamlike physical world "relative" reality, because things here exist in relation to each other.
To be a fully evolved human as far as we have experienced it so far means to have one foot in this reality, and another in the world we experience when we dream at night. We combine the nighttime dreamworld and this dreamlike daytime world, we overlay them mentally in the same way you experience daydreams, creating a single never-ending lucid dream. We learn to control our dreams until we are neither fully dreaming nor fully awake. This is true final enlightenment, at least within a human body. This is the archetypal "god-man" or savior, but instead of saving others directly we teach them to save themselves. After we leave our body, at death, during meditation, or during sleep, we let go of all thought and return to the unformed void from which all pseudo-realities spiral, the place all dreams originate from, which we never actually see from without because we're it.
Getting to that level makes our own mind the "philosopher's stone", the "wish-fulfilling jewel", which converts all negative percieved experience into eternal/timeless wisdom and bliss.

I just read a few days ago that every 30 minutes of focused attention and concentration should be balanced with 30 minutes of complete mental relaxation, and that seems reasonable. I can't go over an hour and a half without losing concentration, sometimes not even an hour.

Humans cannot be perfect. They exist in between God and animal, in between unformed reality and formed, dead matter. If a human became perfect it would stop being a human. It would no longer experience a human body. It is our thinking, our emotions, our desire, and so on, which cause the dream to manifest into false enticements that cause us suffering because we do not recognize their impermanence. The good times always end and create soft men and bad times. That's the cycle, or part of it. So if you become perfect you vanish, the dream vanishes, and you rejoin the absolute which is beyond perfection and non-perfection. Real perfection is not the dualistic concept of perfection. It is our role, as esotericsts of all traditions, to explore and experience this absolute reality and return to help others realize the truth within themselves.

There are many states of existence other than the ones you have listed. The dream does not vanish when you become perfect, you just get to experience the true reality that's perfection as well, and as such eternal, permanent and imperishable. Instead of reaching the emptiness that Buddhists seek (sentencing them to eternal return of the same, forever), you reach fullness, the ultimate state. For that, you must become more than human, much more, you must become a God (with a capital G) unto yourself. This is why ritually slaying the "God" (one) of Freemasonry and universalism is the final challenge, and the most difficult one.

Fullness does not imply being everything however, because being everything means being nothing. This is why the "universal mind" keeps collapsing into itself and forming anew for eternity, creating cycles of suffering. Fullness means full differentiation, with knowledge of the superior and inferior, the beautiful and the ugly, reaching the most perfect state and the most perfect beauty of numbers. Convergence. While the "empty ones" have everything to strive for (without knowing good and bad), just like blind evolution, being fully subjected to mechanistic laws of false creation, "full ones" have nothing to strive for and no reason to "partake in illusion" anymore. Because they are residing in what is true, and what is real. That can only be achieved by projecting that reality in the material domain, even if for a fleeting moment, so it can be experienced externally.

A being who realizes the limits of human perfection becomes the immortal teacher reborn in both the spirit and the flesh, the true baptism, although many, most, choose not to teach once they get to that point because people are notoriously difficult to teach (at least a third of them can't reach enlightenment in this life no matter what they do, they just aren't ready, even Buddha couldn't enlighten everyone, Christ couldn't get all men to listen to him, etc) and there is no obligation to attempt to teach them anything since the truth is already hidden within each of them like a seed waiting to sprout, grow and blossom. All we can do is inspire them to try to start the process of finding it.

I posted this in the previous thread, but I think it went unnoticed so I will post again.

Followers of the way, the old masters had ways of making men. Do not let yourselves be deluded by anyone; this is all I teach. If you want to make use of genuine insight, then use it RIGHT NOW without delay or doubt.

But students nowadays do not succeed because they suffer from lack of self-reliance. Because of this lack, you run busily hither and thither, are driven around by circumstance and kept whirling by the ten thousand things.

You cannot find deliverance thus. But if you can stop your heart from its ceaseless running after phantom desires of the will, you will not be different from the Buddha and founders of the sacred teachings.

Do you want to know the Buddha? None other than he who here in your presence is now reading this Dharma teaching. Just because you lack self-reliance, you turn to the outside and run about seeking.

Even if you find something there, it is only words and letters and never the living spirit of the founders of the teachings. Do not be deceived. Venerable Zen students, if you do not meet your own Buddha Nature at this very moment, you will circulate in the three worlds for ten thousand eons and a thousand births. And, by pursuing agreeable worldly situations, you will be reborn in the wombs of asses and cows.

Followers of the Way, as I see it, YOU are not different from the Buddha!

Today in your manifold activities, what is it that you lack? The flow of the six senses never ceases. Who can see it like that is, for all his life, a man who has nothing further to seek.

Venerable Ones, there is no place of rest in the three worlds; it is like a house on fire. This is not a place for you to stay long. The murderous demon of impermanence strikes in a single instant, without choosing between high and low, old and young.

Do you wish to be no different from the Buddhas and founders of the teachings? Then just do not look for ANYTHING outside.

The pure light of your heart at this instant is the absolute Buddha (Dharmakaya/beyond form and non-form) in your own house. The non-differentiating light of your heart at this instant is the spirit manifestation of Buddha (Sambogakaya/formless) in your own house. The non-discriminating light of your own heart at this instant is the physical manifestation of Buddha (Nirmanakaya/form) in your own house.

This trinity of the Buddha's body is none other than he here behind your eyes, reading this expounding of the Dharma. You can come to this seeing only by not running and searching outside!

The scholars take the lesson of the three forms of God/Buddha as a concrete reality. As I see it, this is not so. These three bodies/forms are merely names, or props. An old master said: "The three forms/bodies are set up with reference to meaning; the and their respective fields are distinguished with reference to substance." However, understood clearly, all these are only mental configurations.

The master continued:
Venerable Ones, get to know the one who plays with these configurations. He is the original source of all the Buddhas. Knowing him, wherever you are is home. Your physical body, formed by the four elements, cannot understand the Dharma you are listening to; nor can your spleen, stomach, liver or gall; nor can the empty space.

Who then can understand the Dharma and can listen to it? The one here behind your very eyes, brilliantly clear and shining without any form — there he is who can understand the Dharma you are listening to.

If you can really grasp this, you are not different from the Buddhas and founders of the teachings.

Ceaselessly he is right here, conspicuously present. But when passions arise, wisdom is disrupted; and the body separates from the changing pictures. This is the cause of transmigration/rebirth in the Three Worlds with its resultant suffering. But as I see it, there is nothing that is not profound, nothing that is not deliverance.

Followers of the way, this truth of the heart has no form and pervades in all directions. In the eye, it is called seeing; in the ear, hearing; in the nose, smelling; in the mouth, talking; in the hands, grasping; in the feet, walking. Fundamentally, it is one light; differentiated, it becomes the six senses.

When one's whole heart and mind comes to a full stop, one is delivered where one stands.

Why do I speak so plainly? It is only because I see you, followers of the way, all running about with an agitated heart, quite unable to stop, fretting yourselves over the playthings of the old masters.
Followers of the way, as I see it, once and for all sit down and cut off the heads — both of the non-absolute spirit Buddha and of the physical Buddha of your conceptualizations. Those satisfied with merely completing the ten stages of the Bodhisattva are like serfs. Those content with universal and profound awakening are but fellows carrying manacles and chains. Arhats and Buddhas who reach only self-liberation are like cesspits. The concepts of Awakening and Nirvana are like hitching posts for donkeys.

And why is this so? Because, followers of the way, you fail to conceive the emptiness of three great world ages; this is the obstacle that blocks you.

Not so the true man of the way who goes with the concurrent causes to wipe out his old karma and lets things follow their own course. He dresses himself as is fitting; when he wants to go, he goes; when he wants to stay, he stays. Not even for the fraction of a moment does he aspire to psychic powers, Buddhahood, or Godhood! Only by letting go of trying like this can he realize his own true nature.

In Zen "detachment" is defined specifically as "detachment from thoughts". But calling it detachment is a clumsy way of saying it here because people here are not Zen students and are unaware of the nuances of definitions. If you say to Zig Forums that detachment is the teaching of Buddha it will be misunderstood as physical detachment. People here will see it as "Sit around meditating all day while the situation around you deteriorates", and that's not in any way the actual goal. I looked into it awhile ago but my focus as of recently is Iron Age and Bronze Age European folk religion, runic magic, things of this nature. Gotta go back to the roots I think before tackling the modern.

Suggestions for excelling as a student no matter which spiritual traditions you study under:

1. Always assume that whatever you know is incomplete. Assume that there is always a higher understanding. Even if you become a teacher, also remain a student, forever.

2. If you meet someone who seems to understand better than you, humbly ask them to teach. Keep asking until THEY tell YOU that you understand. Don't try to tell them that you understand them fully until they say you do.

3. No matter how good your teacher is the real teaching must come from within you. At very high (or even low) levels of practice you may find your teacher testing you with false information. If he can trick you, you deserve it, because it means you are not developing inner awareness and are unworthy of higher teachings. Everything you say to your teacher, you are silently being tested on, but spill your heart to them and hold nothing back so that they can see you for who you really are and identify weak points to strengthen within you. If you cannot trust your teacher with this level of intimacy, find a new teacher.

4. Never assume that because one teacher says you are enlightened, or gives you a title, that you're done realizing things. What is the end of the path in some schools is the halfway point in others.

5. If reality did not disappear, and if you cannot describe what comes after reality disappears, YOU ARE NOT EVEN HALFWAY! Keep going!

6. However humble you think you are, it is not enough. However much pride and arrogance you can cast aside, it is not enough. Right now you may be thinking "I am not very prideful or arrogant". That very thought is enough pride and arrogance to destroy you. You HAVE to be humble. That which created you sees through your eyes, and you cannot hide from it because it is fundamentally part of you. You cannot bluff it or deceive it in the slightest. You can only befriend it.

7. Make sincere effort as much as possible. When you quit, do not burn any bridges. You may often find that after quitting you strengthen your understanding. Things work in cycles and what departs today often returns tomorrow, slightly changed.

8. If you succeed at eliminating your ego you will die.
YOU.
WILL.
DIE.
If you are afraid of death you're going to fuck up the process. You have to accept your death, realize that the dreamlike images that appear at and after the time of death (which are usually disturbing or violent) are no more than a projection of your own mind, accept them, and let go of them. Identify everything that appears, no matter how frightening or wonderful, as an aspect of yourself, emotionlessly.

9. During the death process don't go into the white light unless you want to come here again. The white light is rebirth into this world. THE BLUE LIGHT IS FREEDOM. If you are taking the bodhisattva path, the path of one who returns to teach and assist other beings, then choose the white light.

10. This shamanic death and rebirth experience is not even halfway. Until you go inside yourself and find emptiness you are not even halfway done. If you have not realized the void, experienced the absolute, you are not even halfway. Getting to that point is halfway. Figuring out what to do once you get there is the beginning of the real path. To help you out I'll tell you that what you need to do there is Tummo (inner fire) meditation, so be adept at it before you go.

11. RELAX. Always. Chill the fuck out when you have a breakthrough. You are not the savior of the universe, that is not your job. Your only job is to chill out and help once you know the truth, and if that doesn't appeal to you you're welcome to just chill and live like The Dude from Lebowski. Or Winnie-the-Pooh. Just flow along with it and let it take you where you need to go.

12. Get your ego out of the way so the blessings can get to you. Meditation is essential.
