Could Euro-sceptic/Nationalist countries form a rival Trading block to the EU

Why don't Nationalist countries advocate for a better modified version of the EU that operates as originally intended, a trade union.

The problem with the EU is that no matter what you vote for the EU is structured in such a way that it cannot be reformed, at least not from the outside or democratically.It is a lost cause, the people in charge are unaccountable to anyone and won't appoint anyone who isn't apart of their ideological position. Junker isn't going to pass on his position to a Populist.

The only Option is to leave the EU. The biggest argument that is levied against that is the economic drawbacks to doing so (as if that takes precedents over sovereignty). So rectify that problem by creating a different union. The biggest caveat to this is finding enough nations to participate, and also preferable share a boarder and/or are interconnected by a boarder.

Currently the biggest nationalist contenders, Italy, Poland, Hungary, would be the leaders in the formation of this new union. I could see other nations potentially joining as well with proper incentives (gibs, but where do they come from is the question, as Italy would be the largest contributor).

Why isn't this an option proposed by anyone?

What would you do if others left eu and wanted to join?
And last but not least: are you sure that the politicians and parties which now call for a change aren't only doing so to become the unaccountable bureaucrats themselves?

There is no alternative. The EU works as intended.

"Sovereignist", which is the term they use to design to placate everyone without saying nationalists (as many of those aren't nationalists) and want the citizens of their respective countries to, at the very least, have an actual say in EU than an extremely unpopular vote (that is a fucking clusterfuck made up of nobodies) every 5 years.
