Franco was a moderate version of Hitler that saved Spain from transforming into a communist state. However, he grew senile and gave the power back to the monarchy before he died which was a huge mistake on his part.

Franco fucked up in a lot of ways, franco hated primo de rivera and didnt get along with falange.

tl;dr Primo de Rivera should've lived and been the rightful caudillo of Spain. He would've assisted Hitler, secured the strait of Gibraltar and entrapped the english on the Mediterranean. Hell I think Spain joining the war would've meant the war ending in 1943 or earlier.

Instead, Spain got (((Franco))) and thus, the Falange was subverted and National Syndicalism never rose up. To make things worse ETA (rightfully) placed the final nail in the coffin and assassinated Franco's successor, thus, a power vacuum was left after Franco's death and the old regime was substituted with a far more cucked democratic state.

Because Germany jewed us antisemitism is more popular than ever, with the center collapsed the leading parties are either literal Socialists or Neo-nazis. End result will likely be an uneasy coalition between them as is the case in Italy, whose government is now forcing Germany to take their migrants or else they start an Italexit.

As if "youth" ever did anything relevant, given the way things are going we're just going to get another Franco anyway if the government collapses again and is unable to reform. It'd start exactly like the original civil war did: catalonia would try to leave, the military would step in, socialists try fighting and blood gets spilled.

End result is just more Franco, which is all what this country is capable of. Spain is not able to be a democracy, at least not for another century.

All the blue shirts from Primo de Rivera's fascist movement hated Franco to the guts. When Rivera was made prisoner during the war and executed after a sham trial, Franco rejected an offered exchange of prisoners to save his life. He shamelessly let Rivera be killed. Then took leadership of the Falange movement to dress himself with a few traces of intellectualism.

I totally disagree there. A very big reason for Civil War was religious. Anarchists were murdering and burning temples every other day. Mind you, this was a big issue in the Spain of the 30's. The daily murders from one side were answered with murders from the other side. The left just dindn't want democracy nor accept the CEDA government. When left ""won"" again the elections, it was going straight into a socialist revolution.
Catalonia were just the opportunistic fools, making the situation even worse for everybody, included themselves. Quite like now.
