I'm just wondering how exactly a national socialist town is going to survive in the US, like people are going to refuse to do business with them so they will need to be 100% self-sufficient.

Another option I see on the horizon is sea-steading. There was a TED talk about these floating cities they designed that could exist in international waters. At that point you can create your own system.

The main problem as I see it is a lack of frontiers. Humans follow a pattern where they desire freedom so they explore and then build up a civilization in a new place, which becomes corrupt over time, forcing the people who want freedom to go exploring and the cycle repeats. You see this with the colonists coming to America, or later the people who traveled West. Now there are no new frontiers unless we colonize mars or build Rapture underwater.
