Right now, the right controls the narrative about the crisis of masculinity which is affecting lots of males, and are using this issue to mold a new generation of brainwashed conservatives.

No man with any sense whatsoever thinks letting them contrive a "crisis of masculinity" as a cover to start dictating men's behavior is a sensible idea. Why do masculinity or femininity need to be redefined? They're basically just abstract groups of traits that correlate with hormone levels, and thus pretty strongly tied to material factors. Gender roles are something else, although obviously related. Don't confuse different things like that.

Lack of father figures when people are young due to lack of interaction (job) or abandonment (divorce) which causes them to have to latch on to and mimic more unrealistic or overly exaggerated figures to compensate. If you don't have a father in your life, you instead choose from media the "best father" to both emulate and help you "cope". Same with mothers and the like. Capitalism just further aggravates and accelerates this by having parents be less at home and presenting a plethora of media figures to idolize at an early age and onward. If your alienated from your parents and never see them, or feel distant from them for some reason, you'll try to find "new parents" who you can conceptualize and attach to better.

I have my own personal opinion on things, but I would say I'm quite socially "conservative" (if that's what you want to call it) in my own life and personal social outlook. Doesn't mean I want to kill gays and trans I just think only sex exists, not some essentialized gender, and so transsexuals are in no way the opposite "gender" of their birth sex as much as they "feel" like it and that transition is a harmful feeding of this.
