Anons we need to talk about this, the brazilian radical socdem Lula is getting imprisoned. Now he was convicted ages ago but he has been told he is going to serve his 12 month prison sentence now. It was presumed he could appeal for long enough to stand in the elections, have a good VP, go to prison and then have them takeover. Now this has been ruled out.
This is a big deal because he was the most popular man to next be president: the second choice is literally Augusto Pinochet if he had run for office instead of launched a coup. Shit is going to go down in brazil and it is going to be fucking ugly.

You know what he fucking did? He made the army and the MILITARY police stronger. He gave positions of power to conservative parties that even the most rigid neo-liberals would never vote for. He gave more money to the media, specially Globo, the same fucking company that helped the military take over 50 years ago. He invested thousands of tax payers money to build structures and give them for free to gringos to make a shit load of money for their countries.
With the cult of personality bullshit, most socials movements completely lost their class conscious. Instead of protesting for their own interests, unions and groups representing landless rural workers are protesting to not let this fucker go to jail for the crimes he obviously did!

There's been a growing anti-capitalist sentiment in my circles, from people that used to describe themselves as either libertarians or conservatives. For what that's worth, obviously.
For libsocs it is difficult for measure, but for anarchists it's easy: an increasing number of anti-gov and anti-police vandalism and grafitti, and multiple arrests. Since there has been no specific event that could be tied to an increase in aggression on anarchists from what I can tell, I'm imagining the explanation is that they are growing in numbers.
Most of the population is christian dude, and most of the lumpen are atheists. Killing Christians would be the single most stupid thing possible.
