No, they are (Classical) Liberals. They are differentiated from American (Social) Conservatives in that they theoretically don't want laws outlawing abortions and the like, and from American (Social) Liberals in that they don't think it's the government's job to amend poverty and other societal ailments.
They are, however, the single greatest threat facing the American left today. In lieu of a properly influential leftist party, these bootlickers have co-opted pro-gun, pro-drug, pro-abortion, and anti-war rhetoric to suit their needs, attracting a handful of devout followers and influencing many voters throughout both major parties.
Their inescapable caveat, however, is that their economics are fundamentally aligned against the average American's best interests. It's for this reason they simply ram the line of "lower taxes" down our throats, before dazzling the typical voter with rhetoric about the gold standard. As socialists and communists, it is absolutely imperative that we reply to this with a direct and public criticism of the capitalist mode of production, followed by the presentation of a socialist alternative.

Not gonna lie, I feel like this sentiment is starting to go away in recent years. Especially among the older demographic, working-class people are starting to realize they're not as comfortable as they were growing up, particularly if they've got expensive health issues such as cancer, chronic pain, or degenerative diseases. Whether my generation will carry the torch, or simply adapt to worsening circumstances, is anyone's guess.
