America is far too dependent on fossil fuel profits to ever develop breakthroughs in fusion. I'm more optimistic about China in this regard. By 2050 they will likely have fully functional fusion power plants to provide for the energy needs of their people. Screencap this.

No, fossil fuels dominate a small sector of Burgerland’s GDP. Like most issues in Burgerland the root cause if Bribery in the form of campaign donations. Your point about China being more likely to develop fusion than Burgerland is correct, but Burgerland is more likely to develop Anti-Global Warming Geo-Engenering tech, but that’s because the Burger Government will give privet companies very profitable contracts to implement said geo-enginering.
Nibba do you think half of us will still be on this board by 2050?
Good posts comrade.
Fusion is for electricity generation is not possible. Nor is it necessary for a sustainable future. Renewables + fission for electricity and carbon neutral synthesized fuel for high energy density applications such as air travel are sufficient.
Hero of socialist labor!
Fission only makes sense if you use digital direct democracy to store waste in the homes or at least in the general vicinity of the individuals who are supportive of fission energy projects. That way its primary drawback is dealt with by its proponents rather than the rest of society.
Not if you want to leave this shity rock
