Trump approval rating hits 51% after Syria strikes
US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has climbed to 51 percent, according to the conservative-leaning Rasmussen polling group.
The poll revealed that 39 percent of likely American voters “strongly disapprove” of the way Trump is performing, while 35 percent “strongly approve” of the job he is doing.
The research, released on Monday morning, comes in the aftermath of military action taken by the Trump administration in Syria late last Friday. The US, along with the United Kingdom and France, launched strikes against Syrian government positions in retaliation for an alleged chemical attack in the city of Douma.
Trump enjoyed a bump in the polls around the same time last year, which also followed airstrikes in Syria. Historically, the approval ratings of American presidents have risen following military action that produces a ‘rally around the flag’ effect.

Actually, Rasmussen has been pretty accurate. This small bump is really minor, his approval rating has been between 50 and 51% in the last two weeks. But it is a shame – Americans that don't know what their country is even fighting for approve of Trump bombing places they know nothing about. These people don't know what Damascus is, and they don't know what Aleppo is (cf. Gary Johnson). And the pro-war media helps ignite the aggression. It's just like the lies behind the Iraq War; history keeps repeating itself, and nobody seems to give a damn.

Ah, the good ol' "president who starts another war get a second term"
Whenever it comes out to people who actually vote, Rasmussen is pretty accurate due to the methodology of focusing on that group and of what I believe their rather old system of doing that in comparison to most other polling sites. However only about 58% of Americans actually voted in the last election, and most other polls have his support around 38%-42% on average. Not to say that his support hasn't bumped up or anything, but I would rather not have us use shitty data. No matter if it helps or hurts us.
