Primitivism

What are your opinions on primitivism? On one hand, primitive hunter-gatherer societies easily had pure communism without any need for a division of labor or control of resources that could lead to systems like capitalism or feudalism. It's the most surefire way of achieving pure communism, and we know it works because humanity lived that way for most of its existence. It also eliminates all of the alienating effects of modern industrial society by returning man to the natural state he adapted to. You don't have to spend your days working a shitty job at a factory or office, whether those places are run by a worker's council or General Motors. You can have fun hunting wild game and doing tribal dances instead.

On the other hand, the average life expectancy is in your 30s, you lose all of the advantages of modern medicine and technology, and you have to kill the vast majority of the world's population in order to make the human population small enough to be supported on hunter gathering. Even if there is an impending decline or near collapse of industrial civilization coming due to something like climate change or whatever, it's probably better to deal with it in a way that doesn't end up with billions of people dying. (And no, making 6.8 Billion people stop having children will not happen). Finally, any local attempt to revert to primitive communism or an earlier stage of technological development would inevitably be conquered by technologically superior societies, as happened with Pol Pot.

Reactionary nonsense

impossible and untenable garbage excuse for a 'philosophy' which like all reactionary 'political philosophies' expresses itself as what amount to little more than trying to concern troll society into joining your LARP.

Living a primitive lifestyle is like living like a bourgeois multimillionaire. It's fun for a few people, but if 7 Billion people did it the environment would get fucked up from over-consumption of resources and people would starve.

I'm sympathetic to the idea that the development of civilization was a net negative for humanity but we're in way too deep to pull out now.

You take that fucking flag off right now

The anprim theorists have a lot of interesting things to say about technology and its detrimental effects on society, kazyski was a prophet. That being said most people have no interest in living in the woods as a tribe and dying at age 14 from polio.
It is definitely too late barring some sort of natural disaster or nuclear war.
China has already implemented a draconian social credit system which ranks everyone by points based on how much they conform to society. If you are low ranked you are barred from using public transport, getting into good schools, and even getting a job.
The LAPD in america is using an early AI that detects crime before it happens, like minority report. Based on the stats of course the most targeted are low income blacks and browns.
The AI isnt racist, it has no emotion, it just uses the info its fed.
Millions of jobs will be lost due to automation, the future is most likely the complete destruction of the middle class leaving only the very rich and the very poor. The rich will lived in walled off genterfied gated communities guarded by drones, robotic dogs, and a fascist police force. The poors will live in the slums of the mega city.
Reality will become increasingly hard to make out, photoshop, green screen, deepfakes, ai that can imitate human voice, virtual reality, augmented reality.

50 years from now you could just find footage of your favorite celebrity, splice them into a porno, use a fake ai voice to make them say they love big dick, and no one will know the diffrence.

Now think about that being used in a politcal manner.

LARPing gay fag user…. are you a trots?

What about a high tech hunter culture?

Attached: IMG_0228.JPG (736x1013, 121.04K)

This.

To continue:
There are a lot of people in the United States who'd find a culture centered around hunting and high-tech appealing. It would also mean getting more in touch with nature and also getting in shape.

Attached: drakek.jpg (500x350, 74.52K)

people are slowly running out of excuses to keep modernism running. Most of the people against primitivism are people so weak that they can't imagine themselves living how humans lived for most of our existence.

Hunter/gatherer culture, but with technology would be the best combination.

Achieving communism with primitivism is like treating illness with euthanasia.

nice assumption faggot

But you claim to be a faggot in real life.
btw are u a trots?

Why can't we all be high-tech straight up hunters and kill our own food? we eat what we kill and we kill what we eat.

human laziness

butthurt

Because that would be retarded and pointless.

Lots of people actually lived longer than the average american back then because of their active lifestyles, lack of food, water and air pollution. Disease is only an issue if you think humans should be immune to death. It might be too late to turn back now though since humans in their arrogance have abused antibiotics and now the flu is evolving to become the most powerful organism on the earth, because some kids couldn't die prematurely, or you couldn't handle a cold for a week.

If you think that modern industrial, corporate society is somehow better than what it could be without the constant raping of the earth and her resources, then read Ted Kaczynski for extra info.

bravo anprims

Industry has just made workers more removed from the product of their labour through overproduction and made capitalists more powerful as a result.

How can you call yourself an anarchist and be a cuck to modernity, anyway?

You need civilization to have technology.

Read Bookchin.

I want both tech and anprim, like all those start trek amish colonies who chose to farm but always have back up replicators, just in case. I certainly don't want to live in a paleolithic society, but high-tech monastery without the religion? Hell yes.

Attached: amish it.jpg (537x330, 21.08K)

that's called being a hipster lol

How can you call yourself an anarchist and desire a restoration of the past? You're basically a reactionary.

this.

...

KEK

Read Kaczynski.

They are just going to develop again. I don't think you guys understand what an inately human activity labor is. When Marx said this he wasn't joking.
People have labored, and will labor until the end of people. They will reestablish society, if it is at all possible. There is no "natural human" that primitivism requires. There is no human race that will sit in the mud, eat in the mud, and die in the mud. Humans only hunt and gather until they labor out of it. It's isn't a natural state any more than being a baby is a natural state. Humans grow out of it.
Also, you are eliminating centuries of societal development to literally go live like an animal. It is the worst ideology of all ideologies, because it will recreate every atrocity that man has ever made, more or less. Luckily it also happens to be one of the most ridiculous and untenable as well.

Anprims are the most reactionary people in existence. They aren't leftists, I'd rather work with a fucking feudalist than an amprim.

oh yeah i sure do want to die agonizingly shitting my intestines out and hallucinating from water loss from dysentery, that's not a problem at all
or any of the millions of other horrific diseases that slowly murder you
i sure do want my potential futures to be limited to agonizing death due to an incurable disease with no painkillers or having my brains smashed out by a family member who can't bear to see me like that

If we can retool technology to become hunt-focused and DIY-based, then we could have a hunter/gatherer civilization with fewer, but better people.

it will be inevitable in the future, although some want to actualize it asap so the effects of the collapse wont be as detrimental

Humans only "grew out of it" because of the ice age which permitted conditions for farming. The inevitable collapse of civilization due to climate change, war, etc. will bring effects so severe we will have to return to living in small scale communities

You can't "retool" technology, it's the technology who "retool" humanity.

Still a problem of capitalism, not technology.

Your primmie fantasy land has not and never will be a reality, get fucked, fantasy-cuck.

Already did, was cancer. Never again.

Even if that were true, smaller communities doesn't mean technology will be discarded. Worst case scenario, electricity is severely affected, but technology isn't relegated to anything that runs on electricity, now is it?

shut the fuck up faggot

Sure it's funny to make memes about them dying at 30 from preventable disease but anprims have interesting critiques which I feel like most people don't pay attention to. Partly because the ideas are weird and go against a lot of what people would consider obvious but also that some of their ideas are uncomfortably true.

It's almost impossible to get an anti-civilization perspective that isn't a strawman. Most primitivist aren't going to go around killing people to make their perfect world, they just believe that the modern, industrial world isn't sustainable and that people should create more local, sustainable systems. A lot of people are going to die if the current industrial trends continue, at least this way less people will die. The answer might not be to stop wearing clothes and hunt mammoths with pointy sticks, but it might be in that direction.

Before passing off anprims as idiots, honestly try to consider if you think that the current industrial capitalist system -or hell even a socialist system- is environmentally sustainable.

youtube.com/watch?v=VOMWzjrRiBg

This video explains some basics on the subject.

I strongly agree with anti-complexity lowtech ideas, but not with full on primmies.
"technology" is just tools built by people. so the problems with environmental depletion and dependence come from what tools people build. You can still build a rocketship and explore space without making everything else extravagantly inefficient and disgustingly complex.
One poignant line from a blog about this sort of thing, paraphrased:
"we automate every conceivable physical task, then pay to go to a gymn to work out"

Pretty much Ted's line of thought. Hence why primitivism is reactionary nonsense - it assumes that there's something inherently evil about technology and civilization in general and dedicates no analysis to the actual relations of production built over this material structure.

Save for the AI voice, I think you might be 50 years too late to say that, user: google.com/search?q=deepfakes

the comic always cracks me up because of the clothes the assassin is wearing

I'm so incredibly tired of Zig Forums hot takes. You didn't even kind of refute what I said, stupid faggot.

I'd like humanity to become a society that is focused on hunting. Our technological focus should be on improving our bodies, weapons and to travel like nomads looking for worthy prey.

How is it a false dichotomy?

We supposed racists operate under the same principle.
