It is chauvinism, you do the same thing when it's about trade war. It's this permanent comforting fantasy, experienced as pessimism,
that the US has not even begun to fight - they've had one hand tied behind their back all along. All the factories will come alive again and China will collapse into instability when they can't pay for their own SDI anymore.
Meanwhile the reality is that the US does not contain as much fixed capital as it used to, has rotting infrastructure and dated telecom grids, and already spends an inordinate % of GDP on defense. Yet somehow this country, so lacking in physical capital investment, somehow has room to spend even more and outgrow their foes through an arms race? Doubt.jpg
