Zimbabwe has proven to be ungovernable by their own whites, their own blacks, and Chinese capitalists. So now they go back to mommy England begging for help.
After the whites had their land taken they left and took their knowledge to nearby Zambia who is now a net food exporter. Zimbabwe's use of land redistrubtion instead of coops pretty much ruined the country as farms were given to uneducated people who didn't know how to do the job. The result has been falling tax revenues and increasing food imports. The attempt to use Chinese debt to finance the government failed as now they had to shut down hospitals and schools to pay the loans back in USDs, which is causing economic havoc as children are unable to be safely nurtured.
The only government employees left are in the military, and the capital is subject to a permanent curfew. Transport has broken down too, roads go unmaintained while the state railway does not function as they cannot afford diesel (it is worth noting that South Africa avoided this problem by electrifying their railways). Which is probably why they are trying to regain admission to the UK: England will help finance their outstanding debts while giving them military and logistics support. British anons should keep a watch out for arms/training deals made over the coming years.
This whole mess could have been avoided if Mugabe was told to fuck off and everyone used coops and focused on education instead. Which is the problem here, Zimbabweans themselves lack the education to build productive industries. Whites took that when they left, which they did because their government seized their property without compensation.(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

It was five years after England gave Hong Kong to China, and three after the Euro was created. The UK was seen as this dead entity which would soon become just another province within Europe. Meanwhile Mugabe was already in talks to allow direct foreign investment from Chinese officials who offered low rates. He'd start formally taking out development loans in the mid 00s which he had to start paying back a few years ago. This is what ultimately broke Zimbabwe, in order to prevent getting ripped off due to hyperinflation Chinese officials demanded their bonds be repaid in US Dollars. As a result Mugabe couldn't just print his way out of financial trouble, leading to the gradual closure of most of the Zim government.
And again not to make this ethnonationalist Zig Forums shit but the land seizures did not help because it caused taxable revenue (white people) to immediately exit. Coops would have been a practical fix but this method was not tried except in limited pilot programs between Zimbabwe's government and Chinese multinational companies.

It's really hard to support Mugabe as a leader, as he is the definition of turmoil and delay. He has held reactionary thoughts that are on the same level of a tribal-Bantu warlord. At first, he was seen as a hero for fighting against white-rule of Ian Smith and the British, but over time, Mugabe has transformed into a beast that makes Ian Smith look like a good Samaritan. His wife spends an enormous amount of cash on fashion-clothing, and he has also hoarded tons of money to build his own mansion while having his own people starve
