We are talking about current and actual state of things. The word "Communism" is used, in 95% cases, as a substitute for Marxism-Leninism.

TL;DR Mao was a mistake.
Imagine someone soviet-friendly had gained power. Imagine the soviet union spanning from belarusia to china. Imagine Mao didn't cockblock the soviets at every second turn.
We could have had a fully communist asia. Vietnam and laos wouldn't be dengist. Cambodia would not have had pol pot. North korea would not be an isolationist quasi-monarchy, japan might have turned communist.
The world communist is used by 95% of westerners to mean "anything the government does", that doesnt mean it is right or usefull.

Imagine Communists being obliterated in Chinese Civil War. Communism in Asia would be greatly underpowered. Vietnam would probably go traditionalist-nationalist way. North Korea would be totally dependent on the Soviet Union, causing it more problems and collapsing with it. There would be no leftism in Japan.
With the Collapse of the Soviet Union, America would attain a much greater degree of dominance and superiority.

There were soviet friendly chinese fighters, you idiot. Mao not gaining power doesnt mean the taiwanese winning.
And with the whole territory of china and mongolia added to the USSR the USSR might not have collapsed. It wasted lot of effort and lives on squabbles between them and the chinese, and so much productivity was wasted by Mao's retarded foreign policy and internal industrial decisions.
Also, I am not sure if I should be fucking happy now that we have two economic capitalist superpowers
In what fucking world do you live that having a more cohesive, more unified, much more massive socialist state, without retards running it, is somehow worse than having the USSR fight proxy wars with China?
